We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Directorate Accountant to work within Newcastle Hospitals Research Finance Team directly supporting the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network North East and North Cumbria (NIHR CRN NENC).

The post holder will directly support the senior management team with the production of financial statements and the provision of a high quality financial management service. You will have reporting responsibility for all areas of the network finances including budget planning and forecasting. Working in conjunction with our 13 regional NHS partners you will manage the quarterly finance reporting process ensuring that returns are submitted on time to the NIHR co-ordinating centre. As part of role, you will develop an understanding of the CRN operating framework, applying this knowledge in day to day activities and when providing advice and guidance to the senior team for strategic decision making.

We are seeking candidates with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities, exercise independence and judgement and have a willingness and ability to work flexibly in response to changing priorities.

The role is based at Regent Point Newcastle Upon Tyne with an element of Hybrid working to allow some flexibility of location.
