We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Administration and Clerical Support for the Adult Weight Management Service within the Community Dietetics Service of ‘ Newcastle Nutrition’. You will join a team of 4 supportive clerical and admin colleagues providing an efficient, confidential secretarial/clerical service. Key tasks within the daily role include:

  • Copy typing of clinic appointments, discharge and opt in letters. Also proof reading and formatting of letters drafted by team.
  • Registering all new referrals as they come into the service and overseeing an opt in process.
  • Arranging appointments on System1 and dealing with all telephone queries.
  • Assist in the production and collation of patient resources.
  • Support the team database, which collates stats in relation to the patients seen.
  • Telephoning G.Ps and patients to acquire information as required by the team.

The role is based at Regent Point, Gosforth supporting a small team of dietitians and clinical psychologists. This is a busy post, so you will need to be well organised and able to prioritise tasks accordingly. The Adult Weight Management service provides support to people wanting to lose weight in a healthy way. You will share a modern, well equipped office space with 2 other members of the admin and clerical team who will offer support and advice. The 3 admin staff also provide cover for each other when on leave.

Applicants should have excellent typing skills to RSA 2 standard or equivalent experience. Also experience of working in an office environment. A working knowledge of electronic patient records, information governance standards and MS Office are essential. Familiarity with System1 is desirable but not essential, as training can be organised. As our admin team are the main point of contact for patients, good communication skills are essential, within this the need to listen and respond to patients in a sensitive, pleasant & professional manner (at times this may include patients who are anxious/ depressed, occasionally with learning disabilities).

Part Time 18 hours 45 minutes per week, to be worked over 4-5 afternoons including a Friday afternoon.
