Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 320,000 people. We have a CQC rating as good overall and we have some key areas of outstanding practice with an outstanding rating for being well led at every level.

Band 3 Maternity Support Worker-Smoking Cessation service.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated provider of acute, intermediate and community health care serving the population of Bolton. This provides us with an opportunity for our services to work closely with our partners in primary care and the local authority to ensure a seamless service for our patients.

This is in recognition of the patient experience and quality of care that our staff provide to patients. It is also supported by our Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional Framework for Professional Practice.

The Family Care Division aims to deliver the highest standards of care in maternity, sexual health, gynaecology and a range of acute and community children’s services. We deliver over 6,000 babies and carry around 1,500 gynaecological procedures each year. The Trust also has a tertiary level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, enabling 1 in 4 women across Greater Manchester to receive in-utero transfer and birth at extreme premature gestation at Bolton.

These are exciting times for Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at Bolton. Given the focus in the Trusts 5 Year Strategy, the Trust is investing significantly into the Obstetrics and Gynaecology service. As part of this we are expanding our medical staffing, both consultants and middle grade doctors. The Trust also has plans in the near future for a new, purpose designed and built Maternity unit to house our expanding Obstetrics and Gynaecology service provision.

We are looking for someone passionate , self motivated , dynamic who wishes to make a difference to the care they provide to the women and families of Bolton/Salford/Bury and that you want to be part of the Smoke free Pregnancy team in doing this across Greater Manchester .

The maternity support worker (MSW) will work within Antenatal /Community/Home settings to support and develop the Specialist Service within the multi-disciplinary team. In this role, the MSW will play a key role in supporting women and their families to quit smoking
