Inclusion Recovery College in Thurrock has been running for 5 years and we have an exciting opportunity to expand in line with the transformation of mental health services within the locality. The Recovery College has transitioned over the last year to delivering on-line recovery education in response to the pandemic. This has allowed us to reach a new group of students and offer flexible, high quality services. We shall be working towards returning to community-based delivery over the coming months, complemented with on-line delivery when this is more suitable. We aim to offer an inclusive, informal educational approach that brings people together to learn ways to live healthier, happier and more meaningful lives, whatever that means to them.

The Recovery College Lead will positively support, influence and improve the quality of the Recovery College. They will co-produce, co-deliver and co-evaluate course materials for the Recovery College with peer specialist trainers. We believe that communities and individuals hold their own assets and solutions, so the Recovery College Lead will ensure the Recovery College has strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate mental health professional with post-registration experience above that of Band 5, who is interested in empowering people and their recovery through an educational approach to health and well-being. You will have a good understanding and passion for co-production, recovery approaches and the value of lived experience in promoting well-being. You will believe that people can change, grow, develop and achieve their aspirations irrespective of life experiences or illness. You will want to make a real difference to people's lives through using your experience, knowledge and shared humanity with colleagues in innovative and creative ways.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role, inspiring others and promoting excellence through effective operational management. The Recovery College puts the development of its staff and students at the heart of all we do. There are many opportunities to learn, network and expand your experiences within Inclusion and MPFT. You will have regular supervision and support from the Senior Recovery College Lead and wider Inclusion management team. We are interested in research and networking with Recovery College elsewhere in the UK and beyond.
