Assistant Planning Manager - Scheduling

An exciting vacancy currently exists within the Planning and Performance Forecasting Team for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to work as an Assistant Planning Manager supporting the Planning Manager in leading the Scheduling department at South Central Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust. The position is primarily located within our Otterbourne site, near Winchester, Hampshire and will include remote working.

As a member of the Planning and Performance Team you will be accountable for accurately scheduling resources within budget to effectively meet demand in accordance with targets and KPIs of the Trust across both 111 and 999 services.

The department is a critical part of the operational delivery team and effective communication skills will be essential to ensure the whole operational management team are well informed and engaged in decision making consistently following Trust policies.

It is also a vital portal for staff and ensuring effective communication with staff to meet their needs balanced against organisation performance is a significant part of the success of the department.

You will lead a team responsible for the provision of expertise and systems for planning and scheduling, developing processes and procedures owning the deliverables, and collaborating with other planning managers as required. You will be accountable for the delivery of the scheduling department KPIs, for example call answer 80% of the time within 20 seconds, all emails responded to within 48 hours.

Ideally the candidate will have either a resource planning/scheduling background particularly in respect of call quality audits. You will have strong leadership skills and able to demonstrate how these have led to improved performance and a positive working environment for staff. Experience in building and delivering training plans would also be advantageous.
