CRF Quality Assurance Manager - Band 8a

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to be appointed as Quality Assurance Manager for our newly established Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at the Royal Free Hospital.

The establishment of a Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at the Royal Free Hospital underpins the Trust’s tripartite ambition to deliver leading healthcare treatment, ground-breaking clinical research and teaching excellence. The development of a CRF will build capacity and capability to deliver early phase and experimental medicine clinical trials, increase our research outputs and our recruitment to clinical trials. The RFH CRF is co-located with a brand new, state of the art Infection and Immunity research institute due to open in Autumn 2021.

Under the guidance of the CRF General Manager, the post holder will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of systems to assure the quality of clinical research undertaken within the Royal Free Hospital Clinical Research Facility, in accordance with the International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles, the UK policy framework for health and social care research (2017) and the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004, Medical Devices Regulations 2002 and subsequent amendments. The post holder will have a key role in co-ordinating working practices and policy implementation, ensuring the CRF is compliant with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), polices and external regulatory frameworks at all times.

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, be practical, methodical and organised, and possess a robust background of clinical research regulation and governance gained in an academic or clinical research setting. Direct experience of leading clinical research QA in a health care setting will be highly desirable. A high level of attention to detail will be a must in this role.
