An exciting opportunity has arisen for aCommunity and Network Lead to join our team in a 6 months fixed term position.

Job Summary

We are a busy level 3 integrated, open access Sexual Health Service covering Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire and Isle of Wight. We operate a hub and spoke model of care to provide screening, diagnosis and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV care, provision and ongoing management of PrEP and PEPSE, contraception, vasectomy, sexual health promotion, sexual health advising and partner notification, psychosexual counselling and outreach service. We also offer a range of specialist sexual health clinics for patients with an identified need or vulnerability. We are digitally innovative, patient focused and continually strive for service-wide quality improvement.

As part of the integrated service model, the Community Sexual Health Promotion team works to reduce the health inequalities of those at increased risk of, or who are particularly adversely affected by poor sexual and reproductive health outcomes.

We aim to prioritise prevention as a framework, through education, support and intervention and to empower individuals and communities to make healthy choices about their sexual health and wellbeing.

We deliver community work that contributes towards the following public health measures:

Public Health Outcomes:

  • Reduce onward HIV transmission, acquisition and avoidable deaths
  • Reduce rates of sexually transmitted infections
  • Reduce unplanned pregnancies
  • Reduce rate of under 16 and under 18 conceptions

Our ever transforming model of delivery is responsive and adaptive to the needs and priorities of individuals, families and communities within a clear scope of work.

This role provides operational management of the Community Sexual Health Promotion Team, which includes responsibility for meeting Key Performance Indicators, delivered by team of practitioners working county wide, and overseeing the Communications and Marketing activities and community schemes of work.
