This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly established East Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA) as the Strategy Director.

We are seeking an exceptional, dynamic and ambitious individual to lead on the delivery of a number of national priorities for the NHS Genomics Medicine Service and local Transformation Programmes over a large and complex geography covering the East of England and East Midlands.

The East GMSA is an Alliance Partnership between Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Norfolk and Norwich University NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. While recruitment for this role is being coordinated by CUH, the successful candidate will be employed by and located at the nearest NHS Trust Alliance Partner within the East GMSA.

Length and type of contract is flexible (substantive/3yr fixed term/3yr secondment).

Main Duties of the Job

  • Providing system-wide leadership for regional and national priorities.
    Running the East GMSA PMO

  • Strengthening partnerships and rapidly developing a functional and effective GMSA network across a wide and complex geography

  • Leading on the production and implementation of Annual Business Plans

  • Developing future strategies (regional, national and international) to secure benefits of the Genomic Medicine Service across the health and care system

  • Foster multi-disciplinary and cross-boundary collaborations to enable equitable access to genomic medicine

  • Implementing large-scale change and new models of care across complex geographies

  • Reporting progress to the East GMSA Partnership Board and NHSE/I Genomics Unit

Please note:- Internal applicants on a permanent contract can apply as permanent, but if you're looking at the 3 year option, you can only apply as a secondment and must have the approval of your current line manager before applying.
