Cardio-Respiratory Department Technical/Clinical Lead

£45,753 - £51,668 per annum pro rata

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, forward thinking and dedicated individual to lead our Cardiorespiratory Department at North Devon District Hospital.

We are looking for an experienced cardiac physiologist either with experience of leadership at a senior level, or wishing to take the next steps in their career.

The Cardiorespiratory services are provided by an enthusiastic and passionate team, who work closely with other clinical colleagues to provide high quality services to the people of North Devon.

The department provides a busy transthoracic echo service including a physiologist-led heart valve and nurse led suspected heart failure clinics. Heart rhythm device follow-up is undertaken locally with close ties to Royal Devon and Exeter as the implant centre and a range of ECG services. Including drive through ambulatory heart monitors (since the pandemic).

The department is keen to adopt further physiologist/AHP led initiatives in the future, which improve patient pathways and keep care closer to home.

We pride ourselves in having a very collaborative and effective working relationship with both our cardiology and respiratory colleagues.

It is an exciting time for North Devon District Hospital as we have secured agreement for funding within the Hospital Improvement Programme (HIP) . We anticipate that the successful applicant will have a wonderful opportunity to influence the provision of Cardiology services in North Devon going into the next generation.

As well as advanced technical skills as a physiologist working alongside your clinical team, the successful applicant will provide operational leadership and line management. They will be committed to developing a staff training and development strategy and advancing service improvement plans.
