£24,907 - £30,615 per annum pro rata

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, forward-thinking Librarian to join the Northern Devon Healthcare Trust Knowledge and Library Service. We are a supportive, innovative and friendly team seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, dynamic and confident library professional.

The purpose of this role is to ensure all Trust staff and learners have access to and can make use of knowledge and evidence to underpin patient care, education, lifelong learning, research, and innovation.

The post holder will be expected to act with a degree of autonomy, using considerable initiative to develop the role, and adopting excellent public relations and marketing skills, to promote the Knowledge and Library Service. You will also design and deliver training, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as extensive online and digital skills.

You will be working as part of a small team who are passionate about improving patient care and staff experience. The Knowledge and Library Service provides the platform for staff, learners, patients and the public to use the right knowledge and evidence at the right time, in the right place, enabling quality decision-making, learning, research and innovation.

Our teams of care professionals work with patients and their families to support peoples’ independence, health and wellbeing. We provide support to avoid hospital admissions, and if an admission is necessary, we try to make each patient’s stay in hospital as short and effective as possible before working with them on a safe discharge home.

In our most recent staff survey, our staff voted us in the top 10% of NHS provider organisations to work for and we also came out as the top provider in the South West for our overall results. Our patients (through the Friends and Family Test) regularly report an average of over 95% satisfaction with our services.
