Are you a paramedic or nurse looking for something new? Would you like to be part of the second most improved Ambulance Service in the country? If so, the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service may be the service for you!

We are looking to recruit paramedics / nurses to be part of our clinical team situated within our combined 111 / 999 service. This rewarding yet challenging role is key to supporting both our residential and visiting population along with our growing team of Health Advisors. The 111 clinical advisers are responsible for the assessment of callers over the telephone / video with a wide variety of clinical presentations, making onward referrals and / or providing advice. The role is supported by the NHS Pathways call triage system.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable people with who are able to work well both as part of a team but also work well using their own initiative. This role can be mentally challenging, diverse and at times fast paced and demanding. You will need to be excellent at communicating, be able to remain calm and focused when under pressure and have good critical thinking skills.

As a Service we are invested in developing staff to meet their potential. Along with identifying and implementing innovative clinical practices to ensure we provide the highest level of care. We are looking for applicants who have;

  • Current registered Nurse (NMC) or Paramedic (HCPC)
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Paramedic or Nurse
  • Evidence of undertaking update training and continuous personal /professional development in accordance with the HPC regulations

Upon successful appointment we offer a robust training package which includes;

  • NHS Pathways Clinician training
  • Mentoring by an experienced coach / clinician
  • On-going training and support to consolidate and maintain your skills
