Applications are invited for an Oncoplastic fellow based at University Hospitals Leicester.

This is a unique opportunity to join one of the largest Breast Units in the country with links to Leicester University for a 1 year period ahead of your consultant post. Leicester Breast Services are provided in a single unit for the whole of Leicestershire, based at the Glenfield Hospital, UHL NHS Trust. The unit provides a full range of Breast Services, including complex breast reconstruction, in a friendly and supportive environment by a large and committed Breast Care Team with a variety of specialist interests and skills.

The successful candidate will be expected to access the range of Breast and Plastics clinics (including combined reconstruction clinics) to further their experience and knowledge. Access to Oncology clinics and services can also be offered.

There are two all day breast theatre lists running 4 days per week and extra lists are sometimes run on a 5th day. There are 4 all day plastics theatres and 3 half day lists. The successful candidate will be expected to access these.

It is also expected that they will take part in service development projects, audit and research during the post.

A flexible job plan will be created for the successful candidates according to their wishes and the needs of the unit. The post is for 1 year. Applicants should have full registration with the GMC and it is anticipated (but not essential) that the successful candidate will be post CCT.

This post will commence from August 2021 onwards with the start date being confirmed with the successful candidate.
