This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled Lead nurse to join a well-established and experienced CAMHS Eating Disorder service.

You will need a sound knowledge and experience of the needs of young people and their families who present with a significant eating disorder and how to apply evidence based practice in their treatment.

As a lead nurse the post holder will need to provide expert professional and clinical leadership across the service. Providing expert consultation and supervision to other clinical members of the team. You will offer specialist assessment and treatment for young people who present with a significant eating disorder. They will provide liaison, consultation and support to other agencies and work closely with our partners in paediatrics and inpatient CAMHS. You will be supported to take on a leadership role to ensure service development and provide leadership cover when required to support the service.

To be an active member of the CAMHS Management Team:

  • Contributing to and leading on areas of service transformation in line with national drivers.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice to the CAMHS Management Team on the role and contribution of nursing within Specialist CAMHS
  • To represent the voice and views of nurses in service
  • Promoting the values of integrated governance
  • To lead within the service on promoting clinical innovation and continual development of nursing practice based upon evidence and relevant research.
  • To provide advice on professional matters relating to conduct, complaints and serious untoward incidents.
  • To ensure all nurses in service have appropriate governance arrangements that ensure compliance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. To advise managers on requirements in this area as required.
  • To contribute to core CAMHS duties such as duty and providing initial assessments as required.

There is an expectation that this post holder will be able to offer flexible working hours which may include evening and weekend work.

As one of the senior members of the team, you will work alongside senior staff and contribute to the team’s development, as we continue to strive to be an accessible, responsive and innovative service with patient care and patient experience at its heart. There will be opportunities to develop your leadership and strategic skills with support from senior colleagues. For example, you may contribute to service development, Quality Improvement and clinical governance initiatives, service user involvement, audit and research. We welcome applications from candidates who can bring knowledge and skills to help us build on our success; to create a high quality, efficient and effective system to address demand and capacity issues and expertise in areas such as intake, assessment and brief treatment models and groups.

We are looking for committed, experienced and knowledgeable nurse with experience of working with Eating disorders and a passion for working with children, young people and their families, with a strong leadership background.
