We are looking for an experienced CBT Therapist to join our team. Applicants must demonstrate essential requirements from the job description, key elements of this include

  • Post graduate qualification in CBT (for adults) and BABCP registered CBT practitioner.
  • Additional qualification in a second psychological therapy (eg EMDR, IPT) obtained from a recognised or accredited training provider.
  • Training in and experience of providing supervision to CBT therapists.

You should have significant experience working within a Primary Care/IAPT setting with a wide range of Mental Health conditions. You will work closely with the Senior Clinical Psychologist to provide clinical leadership and supervision for the CBT team within Talking Helps Newcastle. You will also provide a specialist clinical service (CBT plus at least one other therapy modality) to service users in the step 4 pathway of the Talking Helps Newcastle Service, providing psychological assessment, formulation and therapy. Some evening work is an essential part of this role. In house supervision is provided.

Talking Helps Newcastle is an alliance between Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear Mental Health Trust and Insight Health Care. These posts are with Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Service is an integrated IAPT and Primary Care service and we provide a range of services to people living in Newcastle upon Tyne using a Stepped Care framework of service delivery. As well as providing one to one psychological interventions through our varied workforce we also provide a range of educational and group based psychological treatments, and computerised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The service is multi-disciplinary and includes Counsellors, Primary Care Mental Health Workers, Clinical Psychologists, CBT Therapists, High Intensity Psychological Therapists, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and Assistant Psychologists.
