The South West Thames Centre for Genomics is based at St George’s Hospital in Tooting and provides an integrated clinical and genetic laboratory service to a population of more than 3.5 million across South West London, Surrey and Sussex.

Applications are invited for a less than full time (8PA) cancer genetics consultant post in the department of Clinical Genetics. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for cancer genetics and genomic medicine. The post-holder will play a crucial role in the strategic development and implementation of novel clinical pathways, including mainstreaming and integration with oncology services through the Genomics Tumour Advisory Board (GTAB) within the innovative cancer genetics team. Alongside other consultants in the cancer genetics team, they will be responsible for cancer genetics referrals to clinics at St. George’s University Hospital and around the SW Thames region.

The cancer genetics service is staffed by a team of experienced medical, genetic counselling and administrative staff and includes general cancer, syndromic cancer, and tertiary paediatric cancer and multidisciplinary genetic endocrine cancer clinics. Staff work closely with all the disciplines involved in the care of these patients.

We are keen to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic candidate who will join an innovative and forward thinking clinical service which benefits from close links to extensive research groups. Clinics will be held at St George’s Hospital and at various locations throughout Surrey and Sussex. Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of attaining a CCST at the time of interview.
