Band 2 Post: Cardiographer

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Clinical Measurements team at Ashford and St Peters NHS Foundation Trust.

We are a very active department providing a wide range of invasive and non-invasive investigations including physiologist-led exercise testing, 24 hour ECG and BP monitoring and event recording. Due to an expanse in the service provision within the Trust, the number of cardiac tests being performed has vastly increased and, as such, we are looking to expand our team of ECG technicians.

As a Band 2 you will be a key member of the departmental staff responsible for performing ECGs and fitting ambulatory monitors within the Trust. Some administration duties will also be involved.

There will be the opportunity to work towards qualifications within ECG if this is deemed suitable to the individual’s competency. Where funding is provided to achieve such qualifications, the contract will specify an expectation to stay within the department for one year post-accreditation.

You must be a self-motivated, well-organised individual with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to deal with both adults and children, and have the ability to prioritise workload and use your initiative. There is a large commitment to research within the department and the opportunity exists to be a part of this.

This post would be suited to an individual with some basic understanding of an ECG however, you will not be expected to have experience within Cardiology as full training will be given to the successful candidate. NHS experience is desirable. Non-invasive services are offered on two Hospital sites and successful applicants would be expected to rotate across both sites. An internal hopper-bus is available throughout the day.

Weekend work may be required on occasions.

This is a full-time post.

Visits to the department are encouraged.
