Band 3 Post: Senior Cardiographer

(Fixed Term 6 month’s contract)

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Clinical Measurements team at Ashford and St Peters NHS Foundation Trust. We are a very active department providing a wide range of investigations and are looking to expand our team of Cardiographers due to expansion of our services.

We are a very active department providing a wide range of investigations and are looking to expand our team of multi-skilled cardiac physiologists. We offer full non-invasive investigations including;

    • ECG and ambulatory monitoring

 

    • Stress tests;exercise, and rapid access chest pain clinics

 

    • Echocardiography; TTE, TOE, stress, bubble, and complex

 

    • Pacing; ILR, brady and complex tachy device follow-ups; we are the leading implant centre in Surrey for ICDs and CRTs with an extensive remotely-monitored patient population.

Our newly opened, state-of-the-art Cardiac Unit carries out;




    • Diagnostic cardiac catheterisations

 

    • Interventional cardiac catheterisations including radiwire, OCT, IVUS, IABP, and rotablation

 

    • Diagnostic electrophysiology studies and ablations of SVT, Flutter, and PAF using RF and cryotherapy

 

    • Simple and complex device implantation.



With expansion of services, the newly renovated coronary care unit, and the recent commencement of the primary PCI service, it is an exciting time to join the team.

As a Band 3 you will be a senior member of the Electrocardiology team. You will be responsible for performing ECGs and fitting ambulatory monitors within the Trust and MUST have advanced knowledge of ECG rhythms and recognition. You will ensure that all inpatient requests are prioritised and dealt with in a timely manner and be responsible for training junior members of the Electrocardiology team.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to experience the latest Cardiology techniques and be involved in research studies. Some administration duties will also be involved. Electrocardiographer applicants must have experience of working within the NHS with adult and paediatric patients. The opportunity to train in other areas of non-invasive Cardiology may be available if staffing allows and clinical knowledge permits progression. Any progression would be on a rotational basis with other members of the department.

Non-invasive services are offered on two Hospital sites and successful applicants would be expected to rotate across both sites. A free internal hopper-bus is available throughout the day.

Weekend work and extended working hours may be required on occasions/in the future if the departmental structure changes.

Our main sites are Ashford Hospital, TW15 3AA near to Heathrow Airport and St Peter’s Hospital, KT16 0RQ which is close to junction 11, M25. We also operate services at Woking Bradley Unit and Milford Hospital. A free shuttle bus service operates between Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals.
