Band 4 Therapy Assistant –Trauma and Orthopaedics

Base: St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey

Hours: 37.5 hours over 7 days

We are looking for the right person with commitment to patient care and who enjoys working as part of a team to join the physiotherapists and occupational therapists at St Peter’s. The successful applicant would be required to work their standard hours flexibly over 7 days including weekends (Typical hours 8am-4pm Monday to Friday; 1 weekend per month with rotared days off to follow a weekend).

The successful candidate will work as part of a team in providing treatment, rehabilitation and discharge planning to our patients following orthopaedic surgery. The trauma and orthopaedic department treats a wide variety of conditions such as, fractured neck of femurs, spinal fractures, upper and lower limb trauma and Ilizarov surgery. Support and supervision is provided by qualified staff.

The post would be based in the orthopaedic team at St Peter’s Hospital.

We are looking for someone with proven therapy assistant experience or similar in the NHS, Social Care or similar setting. Evidence of an understanding of the role of a therapy assistant and Therapists is essential.

It is essential that you have good IT and organisational skills as part of the role involves recording activity on Trust IT system, ordering equipment on line and providing general admin support to the therapists.

Our main sites are Ashford Hospital, TW15 3AA near to Heathrow Airport and St Peter’s Hospital, KT16 0RQ which is close to junction 11, M25. We also operate services at Woking Bradley Unit and Milford Hospital. A free shuttle bus service operates between Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals.
