Glossop Trauma Ward is looking for a Band 6 Registered Nurse with an interest in trauma and orthopaedics or a highly skilled Band 5 with the enthusiasm to take on a new challenge. This post will include trauma orthopaedic training and exposure to expanding your leadership skills. The Band 6 position is for a substantive contract of 21.5 hours per week. The training will be provided by Glossop Ward’s specific Nurse Lecturer Practitioner, who has extensive trauma experience and strong university links with the University of Exeter. The practitioner provides innovating and best practice trauma orthopaedic training.

Glossop Ward is built on the foundations of a highly functioning and caring multi-disciplinary team, who pride themselves on the delivery of quality, safe and compassionate care. The speciality offers depth and strength to its skill set supported by nurses, nursing associates, HCAs, clinical educator, therapists, ACPs and medical staff who collectively drive patient centred innovation. Due to the dynamic collaborative multi-disciplinary team Glossop Ward has the second lowest length of stay for patients with hip fractures in the south west according to the national hip fracture data base (2020). As part of this role there will be a protected and dedicated 5 hours a week to undertake the National Hip Fracture database audit. This audit is inputted into the database to highlight our hip fracture performance against other national hospitals and provides evidence that our patients have received best practice. Giving you the opportunity to have a proactive role in quality improvement and providing excellence in patient care. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

A current and valid NMC registration is required for this nursing post and all posts include a commitment to work days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays as necessary to meet the needs of the service.
