CDDFT is committed to having 0 HCSW vacancies and has such has recently appointed in excess of 80 ‘new to care’ Health Care Support Workers to work in various roles throughout the Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Educator to join our small Practice Education Team to support the Health Care Support Worker Recruitment Programme and to provide additional training and support to help the new recruits to achieve their Care Certificate. You will also participate in provision of other programmes that support our Students, Apprentices, Preceptees and international Nurses.

The post is 30 hours per week on a fixed term basis for a year. It is offered as a secondment opportunity but you must have manager approval before applying. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to influence future practice.

You must be a first level nurse registered with the NMC with experience of coaching, assessing and supporting staff and/or students. You will be enthusiastic about the education of our future workforce and be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of HEE Care Certificate Framework and NMC Standards for Education.

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

  • youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
  • the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.
