Could you help deliver Covid-19 vaccines? Your NHS needs you.

Minimum 24 hours per week.

Minimum 4 months Fixed Term Contract

Do you want to play a major part in the nationwide effort to defeat Coronavirus, lift us out of the pandemic and help restore our freedoms?

Vaccines are our best defence against the virus.

The NHS in Leeds has already begun vaccinating and we are now getting ready to launch the next phase of the city’s vaccination programme.

Our main vaccination service will be provided primarily from our new hub at Elland Road, the home of Leeds United Football Club however there will be an expectation to work over multi sites. This will be in operation 12 hours a day (7am- 7pm), 7 days a week, where professional teams will be vaccinating members of our local community.

We’re looking for people who can commit to a fixed term contract, and be willing (and able) to work at least 24 hours a week for up to six months. As our sites will be open seven days a week we can offer staff flexible working options.

We can offer these posts on a full time, part time and secondment basis. We’re mindful that the health and care sectors are already under immense pressure so please have a conversation with your employer first before applying.

This is where you come in as we plan to grow the team rapidly over the coming months by recruiting to a number of roles. These roles can be offered on a flexible basis, including outside of usual working hours, to fit with your other responsibilities and commitments.

We are calling on colleagues who are registered healthcare professionals with the following bodies to join our team and administer the vaccinations :

• nurses, nursing associates and midwives currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

• pharmacists currently registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

• chiropodists/podiatrists, dieticians, occupational therapists, operating department practitioners, orthoptists, orthotists/prosthetists, paramedics, physiotherapists, radiographers and speech and language therapists currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

• dental hygienists and dental therapists registered with the General Dental Council

• optometrists registered with the General Optical Council

You will be key in supporting the vital next phase in the health service’s COVID-19 response. This role will appeal to individuals who want to make a difference to the health and safety of our workforce and our local communities; who want to “do their bit” in the response to the pandemic and who want to be part of history in the making.

In all roles, appropriate training, supervision and PPE will be provided to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and patients.

As well as the clinical competences required for these roles, it is essential that you undertake your role in a manner which embodies the values of the Trust. It is also vital that you are able to communicate information verbally in a reassuring and non- judgmental manner, whilst explaining information clearly to a variety of individuals.

If you have any questions about the role or wish to discuss it in more detail, please contact our HR Manager Kamal Kaur on kamaljit.kaur34@nhs.net
