We are looking to recruit proactive and self-motivated individuals with a keen interest in pain management to work within the Adult Inpatient Pain Management Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. The Inpatient Pain Management Service provides education, support and advice to patients and Healthcare Professionals in all clinical areas and all specialities throughout the Trust. Current hours of service are 8-4 Mon-Fri though this is under constant review.

The post holders will work as an expert resource, as part of a Multi Professional Team. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills with a proactive approach to improving the patient’s experience. This position also requires the holder to provide regular teaching sessions to all levels of Trust staff and within local universities.

We would welcome applications from staff from a variety of clinical settings, ideally with some surgical experience. They should have a sound understanding of the role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist within an Inpatient Pain Management Service. Opportunities for on-going personal development are available. The post holder will be required to undertake duties across all the Trusts sites.

Successful interviewees will be asked to do a maximum 10 min power point presentation on a non-pain related topic of your choice eg a hobby, an experience, mini teaching session.

The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
