Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

As part of an exciting expansion of our award winning specialist CAMHS Eating Disorder team, we are looking to recruit a substantive fulltime band 8a psychologist.

Our supportive and innovative multi-disciplinary team offer specialist assessment and treatment for clinical eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder.

The position will offer the candidate the opportunity to develop specialist skills in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders and co-morbid conditions, such as neuro-developmental disorders. There are excellent learning opportunities and a focus on working with a range of professionals and agencies to support young people and their families.

It’s an exciting time to join our dynamic team, with the recent development of a home intervention team, a specialist inpatient pathway to our new Beacon adolescent inpatient service, a specialist neuro-developmental pathway and strong links with our adult service (including the FREED pathway).

The service is research active and has engaged in some exiting local, national and international research opportunities. There will be a significant amount of team work, where we expect excellent communication and organisation skills and would encourage applications from Clinical Psychologists who have demonstrated an enthusiasm for working with young people with eating disorders and or mental health issues which frequently co-occur alongside eating disorders. Experience in working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions and a well-developed understanding of how such conditions may interact with eating disorders is very beneficial.

This role will include service development to support the team in meeting the needs of young people and their families in line with the national Access and Waiting Time Strategy (2015).

You will play a significant role in helping us achieve the team vision of delivering high quality, innovative and effective treatments and ensure our service is accessible to the diverse communities we service in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Our specialist outpatient team operates Monday-Friday from our dedicated team base in central Leicester.
