The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a substantive Consultant Nurse (Band 8b – 1.0wte) to join our newly transformed Stroke Service at University Hospitals Dorset. This role will see you providing expert clinical leadership to enhance patient care in Stroke and TIA Services across professional and organisational boundaries and providing consultative clinical nursing, education, management expertise and advice in all aspects of the Stroke and TIA speciality, with a particular focus on the acute stroke pathway.

Who are you?

You are a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Nurse in Stroke and TIA, motivated by providing the best patient care possible. You will be keen to work across patient pathways as an expert, independent, and highly visible autonomous clinical practitioner providing ‘hands on’ clinical practice. You will also be able to take a key role in the strategic development of Stroke and TIA services in our local NHS trust and the wider community, and will be able to draw on utilise multiple research and development methodologies. You will have excellent leadership skills and will demonstrate abilities as a collective and compassionate lead in the delivery of Stroke Care.
