An exciting opportunity has arisen for friendly, experienced, hardworking, motivated, flexible and enthusiastic Staff Nurses (newly qualified or experienced) and ODP’s to join the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) and the Theatre Admissions Unit (TAU) Teams at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital. We have permanent, full time and part time hours available. The posts are rotational between PACU and TAU delivering pre and post-operative nursing care to children, young people and their families.

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is one of only four dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the UK and provides integrated healthcare for children and young people, including community and mental health care as well as acute and specialist services. TAU and PACU are fast paced and have a high volume of patients, providing a pivotal role with the Theatres department and has vital links with the emergency department, surgical wards, radiology and critical care unit.

Keeping children and young people at the heart of what we do drives us to look at new ways of working. Successful applicants will be involved in providing high quality care and improving the patient and parent experience.

Current opening times;

PACU: Monday – Friday, 0800 - 2200 hrs: Weekends & Bank Holidays – 0930 -1800 hrs.

TAU: Monday – Friday, 0730 - 2000 hrs

Shift times vary between both departments to meet service needs.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
