Band 6 Physiotherapist

Post reference:

Permanent: Full time 37.5 hours per week.

Grade: Band 6

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join a forward thinking, innovative therapy team based in one of the UK’s largest and most prestigious hospital trusts with an international reputation for excellence.

Following the success of the ‘Enhanced Therapy’ pilot project at LTHT we are now looking to permanently appoint a highly motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Therapy team supporting the Community Rehabilitation wards. This post will initially be based at Wharfedale General Hospital but future rotation to St James Hospital is envisaged.

The team delivers therapeutic interventions to improve patients flow and discharge, working as part of a cohesive MDT team to establish clear patient goals to maintain function, support discharge plans and demonstrate the impact that therapy can have on achieving the best outcome for patients. This is a really exciting opportunity to further embed the therapeutic approach in all interactions with patients to achieve a positive impact on their recovery.

There will be opportunities to work therapeutically with patients during the rehab phase, progressing them to home which could include providing therapy within the community setting if appropriate

Applications would be welcomed from physiotherapists with relevant post graduate experience who are flexible, innovative and passionate about rehabilitation and have a positive approach to team working. Experience across core areas and a broad experience of working in rehabilitation and discharge management is desirable.

You will work closely with an experienced Band 7 PT and OT and dietetic colleagues and be required to provide supervision and development to the therapy support workers. You will be actively involved in service development and training.

At present this service operates 5 days per week Monday to Friday but, if required it may move to a 7 day provision in the future.

We are committed to the Leeds Way.

It is expected that interviews will take place on Thursday 27th May
