The Role

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Trust (HPFT) are looking for a band 6 Occupational Therapist for an exciting specialist and sought role.

The role is dedicated to supporting care home staff to help manage service users with more complex presentations, alongside the established HPFT community teams and in conjunction with other agencies. The service will be flexible to the needs of the local care homes across the county. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a relatively new part of the service which is evolving and developing as the service becomes established. You would be working across the East and the North of the county offering OT intervention to support complex presentations as part of an MDT. The HPFT Care Function staff will receive specialist training to enable them to offer an expert service to the rest of the mental health team as well as care home staff. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate to contribute in evolving and developing this relatively new role.

As an Occupational Therapist in HPFT you would:

Be part of an OT team, not a lone professional

Be part of MDTs that value and respect OT

All our OTs are line managed and supervised by experienced Specialist/Head Occupational Therapists

You would receive support and be part of an OT network across all the services. If you are new to the area or considering career progression – we can support you.

You would work autonomously and be able to use your creative skills.

You will be part of a developing and expanding service, where we can support your development with flexibility.

Car driver essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 which prevents you from driving)

At HPFT we also offer:
- Paid opportunities for OTs Returning to Practice after a break or for those wanting to expand their experience into a new field of practice.
- Flexible bank work for qualified and unqualified experienced staff.
- Opportunities for bank work if you are currently studying your OT qualification.
- Opportunities for work experience for those considering OT as a career. - NHS accommodation may be available if required.
