Beechwood Ward at the Evington Centre have two vacancies for Band 6 Deputy Sisters/ Deputy Charge Nurses to join our teams.

Beechwood Wards are part of a network of twelve Community Hospital wards that provide sub acute care, complex rehabilitation and end of life care to patients across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The hospital network also provides Stroke rehabilitation on two of our other wards.

We have a permanent Deputy Ward Sister / Deputy Charge Nursepostand a 12 month secondment opportunity on Beechwood Ward .

We are looking for a highly experienced Level 1 (Adult) Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills, who is enthusiastic and motivated to provide visible leadership in support of the Ward Sister. The post holder will be an experienced Band 5 nurse who can demonstrate they have a range of transferable skills within a hospital and / or community nursing setting and have medical or sub acute medical experience or a current Band 6 nurse wishing to undertake a new and exciting challenge.

The successful candidate will be supported to develop their leadership ability and management skills and will lead by example to deliver excellence in patient care. We have an established Band 6 induction and development programme to support you in this role.

You will need to have experience in mentoring and supporting learning within the ward environment as the ward supports a number of nursing students, newly qualified and return to practice nurses for their preceptorship as well as nursing associates in training.

We use electronic systems including System One for patient records, Nervecentre and EPMA (electronic medication prescribing and administration system). We offer training and personal development within the Wards and at our Learning and Development Centre to ensure you have the knowledge/skills to meet patient needs and complete your revalidation CPD requirements.

In addition we offer free parking on all our sites and a shift pattern that is predominantly long days and nights on a rotational basis. We may be able to offer flexible working patterns; we can clarify this at interview.

The wards all have a multi-disciplinary approach to patient management. Family and MDT goal setting are an integral part of the Registered Nurse role in all our in-patient areas.

Supported by the Ward Sister & Matron you will develop your professional accountability, innovative thinking and contribute to the clear vision for the in-patient nursing areas. You will be responsible for supporting the continuous management of the Ward and contributing to high standards of care delivery.
