An excellent opportunity has arisen to appoint a fixed term Basic Grade Clinical Perfusionist to our existing Clinical Perfusion Team at Leeds General Infirmary.

The department provides a complete range of cardiac services from neonatal to adult patients, including ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pumping and intra-operative cell salvage. We perform approximately 1200 combined adult and paediatric cardiac cases annually.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual to further enhance our highly professional team. Applicants should be competent in a range of perfusion techniques, have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary surgical team. Experience with centrifugal pumps, ECMO and paediatric perfusion is advantageous, however training will be given.

The successful candidate will be required to fully participate pro rata in the 24-hour on-call service. Due to an anticipated reduction in activity during the continued pandemic, this post is advertised as part-time to be worked over 2-3 days per week.

You must be accredited by the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland and registered with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists and fulfill the registration criteria to date.

The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
