A number of positions have arisen for Registered Nurses to join our team at Glenfield Hospital in the Vascular Surgery specialty.

All training and a full induction will be provided therefore prior experience is desirable but not essential, a desire to learn and share our values is all we ask.

Ward 23 is a Vascular Surgical ward that cares for both elective surgical patients and patients admitted as an emergency. Patients have a range of procedures and surgical interventions including Aneurysm repair, Angioplasty, Bypass surgery and Carotid Endartectomy.

We directly admit patients to the ward with critical limb ischaemia through our Vascular limb salvage service and care for patients with diabetic foot ulcers.

Our patients have a number of specialist services involved to provide individualised care. These include the Diabetes specialist team, Vascular specialist nurses, Acute pain specialist nurses and the Palliative care team.

The ward supports advanced practice initiatives such as educating Trainee Nurse Associates which is consistently evaluated very highly by learners.

A comprehensive induction package is offered by the ward staff which includes specific Vascular Surgery study events which are run by the Vascular Specialist Nursing Team.

Vascular Surgery is part of the wider Renal, Respiratory, Cardiac and Vascular Corporate Management Group (RRCV) and is based at Glenfield Hospital located approximately 3 miles from Leicester City Centre on a spacious campus.
