We provide out of hours (OOH) primary care and Extended Access appointments to the population of Cumbria (500,000 people over a land mass of 2,613 square miles), working out of 12 clinical sites. Our core bases are:

  • Kendal
  • Barrow
  • Whitehaven
  • Carlisle
  • Penrith
  • Wigton

Practice Nurse – South Extended Access

The Cumbria Health Extended Access service (CHEA) has been developed to provide extended routine general practice capacity for the population of Western Dales.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Practice Nurses to join the CHoC team to help provide the CHEA service specifically working within the Pre-bookable extended hour’s service, providing Cervical screening and Chronic disease clinics and patient reviews.

We require Practice Nurses to work in Western Dales at the following locations / hours:

  • Bentham Medical Practice
  • Sedbergh Medical Practice
  • Lunesdale Surgery

Saturday mornings between - 09.00am - 12.30pm

We offer continuous development for all of our staff, as well as regular supervision, to ensure you achieve your personal goals and assist you in personal and professional development. Regular support from your line manager is also provided to ensure you have the opportunity to develop your skills further.

Due to the requirements of the role, a minimum of 5 years post registration experience is necessary including primary care experience.
