You will work 37.5 hours a week alongside the multidisciplinary team at The Bridge Care Centre, which provides specialised rehabilitation and care for people with acquired brain injuries, complex neurological conditions, spinal cord injuries and individuals with complex healthcare needs.

There is a strong emphasis on teamwork and transdisciplinary working to provide assessments, interventions and treatments for adults with neurological conditions, complex respiratory and complex care.

Acting as the Lead Speech & Language Therapist, you will have previous experience in working in a similar environment from the NHS and/or private sector as you will be managing complex cases which will see you liaise with therapy leads, case managers and external professionals.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

Your responsibilities:

  • To act as a highly specialist clinician for adults with neurological disorders and complex respiratory conditions resulting in communication and swallowing disorders including progressive neurological diseases
  • To provide assessment, diagnosis and appropriate speech and language therapy intervention for people referred to the service
  • Demonstrate specialist knowledge in communication and swallowing disorders
  • Contribute to the assessment and information-gathering regarding service users’ mental capacity and ability to give informed consent
  • Assist service user's to maximise their independence in decision-making and communicating their wishes

To be successful in this role, you'll need

  • To be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, and be registered with HCPC
  • Experience in managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
  • Evidence of continuing Professional Development
  • May be required to cover On-Call duty
