University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) has a vision to deliver 'Caring at its best' and is one of the largest Trusts in the country, treating over a million patients each year.

It is based on three hospital sites and employs over 15,000 staff. With one of the largest Managed Equipment Service contracts, all 3 hospitals have new and up to date imaging equipment. If you are a committed radiographer that shares our vision for high class patient care, then come and work within our high performing, friendly and dedicated cross-sectional imaging team.

We have a new Emergency Department (ED) at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) which includes two dedicated CT scanners. We are also involved in a leading forensic and post mortem CT service at the LRI, which received SOR team of the year in 2018. The LRI has 3 MRI and 5 CT scanners in total and this opportunity includes specialist training to aid your development, whilst rotation through all areas will enable consolidation of your learning, improved knowledge and practical skills. Staff will also have the opportunity to work at the National Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine at Loughborough University which has a state of the art, purpose built MRI unit and undertakes research studies. This is an exciting opportunity which will help develop your knowledge and make you specialists in cross-sectional imaging, whilst there are also numerous academic and learning opportunities available at this large trust.

It is essential that you are a good communicator, team player, enthusiastic and driven individual. There is a shift system in place between the hours of 8am and 8pm and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in on-call, bank holiday and out of hours services which may necessitate cross-site working.
