Job Title: PCN/General Practice Paramedic

Location:South Bar House, Oxford Road, Banbury, North Oxon

Salary:£35k - £43K WTE (depending on experience and additional skills)

Hours: Full time(Part Time considered)

This is an exciting time for General Practice. All practices within the county have come together to work in Primary Care Networks (PCNs). These are groups of GP practices working in partnership to support their local population.

A fantastic and exiting opportunity has arisen within the Banbury Cross PCN for a committed, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the team.

As a General Practice Paramedic, you will work as part of a clinical team, with GP’s, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Mental Health Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants across practices in the PCN. The post holder will provide a high-quality, cost-effective service to the patients of the Banbury Cross PCN; diagnosing and prescribing treatments and medication while working within defined procedures and protocols as laid down by the GPs.

The post holder will be responsible for seeing patients in practice sites and for occasionally visiting patients in their place of residence, who present with a wide range of minor illness, urgent and same day requests for treatment and chronic disease management; providing care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.

The successful candidate will be a registered Paramedic with a relevant degree-Educated to BSc, post-graduate Cert or Diploma level and would have had a minimum of three years post registration with demonstrable experience of using diagnostic skills.

Experience in a primary care setting is desirable, however induction and training in a primary care setting will be given.
