We are seeking to recruit a qualified Clinical Psychologist to provide a Paediatric Clinical psychology service to children and their families referred to the Paediatric and Teenage and Young Adult Haematology and Oncology Service within Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The person appointed will provide assessment and treatment to patients and their families as well as advice and consultation to professional colleagues. This is maternity leave cover for 1 year

The post is open to those about to qualify or applicants who already have paediatric experience and want to develop specialist clinical skills in this clinical area. Well established support and supervision will be provided and further continuing professional development is actively encouraged and supported.

Professionally you will join a well established and innovative Paediatric Clinical Psychology service which provides regional and national specialist services, through direct patient care, consultation and supervision within general paediatrics as well as many specialist services. There are currently good prospects for further expansion of the paediatric clinical psychology service. As a psychologist you will be supported by a substantial professional group of over 40 Clinical child psychologists, systemic family therapists and child psychotherapists working within the hospital and community context

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
