An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and dedicated team as a Deputy Service Manager.

As a Deputy Service Manager you will be a core part of the Emergency and Specialist Medicine Clinical Management Group team to facilitate service improvement and improved quality of care across the Emergency Floor - the Emergency Floor is made up of our Emergency Department, Ambulatory Care Units, and Medical Admissions Units.

You will work closely with your General Manager and Head of Service to ensure effective service development, operational management and delivery of high quality patient services for your clinical area. We have a clear agenda relating to service redesign, modernisation and new ways of working to meet the ever-growing levels of patient activity and service demands: therefore a logical thinker with strong organisational and influencing skills is a key requirement for this role.

We are looking to recruit staff who have values in line with our Trust values. We are a large and busy healthcare provider and want staff who are resilient, focused and who have a “can do attitude”. Applicants for this busy and dynamic role will need to have demonstrable experience of monitoring and managing healthcare targets, a team of other staff and also budgets at a basic level. It will also be essential that they understand health service provision and ideally have detailed knowledge of one or more services. They will also be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written, and will need to understand and report on complex performance information.

Candidates will be high achievers, have high levels of energy and enthusiasm, a personality that is upbeat and motivated and an ability to lead in an engaging way with well-developed communication and relationships skills.

This role will have responsibility for Medical Staffing therefore those with a Medical Staffing or Human Resources background are welcomed.
