The role of the Voluntary Services Department is to provide volunteering opportunities for people in our local communities, which enhances the experience of patients and visitors to our hospital and community sites, as well as supporting Trust staff.

The Volunteer Coordinator will support the Voluntary Services Manager with the development of voluntary services, supporting its coordination and promotion by liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

The Volunteer Coordinator will engage and support volunteers before, during and after their volunteering placements, ensuring that their experience is positive and beneficial to patients, NLaG and themselves.

The post holder will coordinate the provision of volunteers in a variety of roles across the Trust (hospital and community based) and will ensure that the recruitment, selection, training, induction and placement of volunteers is carried out in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

This new post is to develop and support new volunteering opportunities across the Trust and to monitor the impact of volunteers within the Trust.

The Volunteer Coordinator will support the Voluntary Services Manager to ensure all volunteer activity is aligned to the Trusts Volunteering Policy and Strategy.
