Senior Clinical Counselling Psychologist

We are seeking to recruit an experienced qualified Counselling Psychologist to provide a psychology service to children and their families referred to Generic Paediatrics, Cystic Fibrosis & Burns Service at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The person appointed will provide assessment and treatment as well as advice and consultation to professional colleagues. The post is a maternity leave cover.This is an exciting opportunity to provide both clinical care into a number of specialised areas.

There is some flexibility around hours of work, part time or a job share would be considered.

Professionally you will join a well established and innovative Paediatric Clinical Psychology service which provides regional and national specialist services, through direct patient care, consultation and supervision within generic paediatrics as well as many specialist services. There are currently good prospects for further expansion of the paediatric clinical psychology service. As a psychologist you will be supported by a substantial professional group of over 40 Clinical child psychologists, systemic family therapists and child psychotherapists working within the hospital and community context

If a DBS check is required for the post you are applying for any offer of employment will be provisional on a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
