Imperial College HealthCare NHS Trust is an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) and one of the largest trust in the country. We are looking for band 5 Registered Nurses for our Cardiology Wards,

Heart Assessment Centre – this is a 9 bedded assessment area with 3 assessment trolleys and Hammersmith’s front door. This area receives patients directly from LAS with many different types of cardiac conditions ranging from acute MI and arrhythmia to patients in cardiac arrest. This area also receives transfers for our referring Hospitals. This clinical area has a fast turnover of patients who complete their assessment and are then either discharged home or moved to a ward bed for further cardiac treatment.

A7 – 5 bedded CCU with a 22 bedded step down area which has the capacity to cardiac monitor 17 of these beds. This area receives primary PCI’s and arrhythmia patients directly form the Cardiac Labs and cares for patients who have any cardiac condition from MI to pulmonary hypertension. The ward is a fast-paced acute clinical area and gives all staff excellent knowledge and skills in cardiology.

C8 – Is a twenty beds mixed cardiology/care of the elderly ward. The area takes patients who no longer require acute care from A7. C8 admits pulmonary hypertension patients for assessment and on-going treatment and heart failure patients for stabilization of their condition as well as TAVI patients pre and post procedure. The area has a daily Cardiology and Care of the elderly ward rounds and again has a high through put of patients.

All our cardiology wards work closely together and have a very friendly collaborative team philosophy.
