£52,643 - £58,558 pa inc

Fulfil your potential in hospitals that make history:

Charing Cross, Hammersmith, St Mary’s, Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea and Western Eye.

With five world-renowned hospitals, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is full of opportunity if you are looking to develop your healthcare career.

We are an NHS Trust of approximately 14,000 people, providing care for over a million and a half patients from north west London and beyond every year. We have a rich heritage and an ambitious vision for the future of our patients and local communities.

With our partners, Imperial College London, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, we form Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre, one of 6 academic health science centres in the UK, working to ensure the rapid translation of research for better patient care and excellence in education.

We are proud of our heritage in innovation and we are early adopters of new insights in technologies, techniques and treatments for improving health.

The Division of Medicine and Integrated Care is looking for a knowledgeable, resilient and resourceful healthcare manager to take on our efficiency specialist role. In order to maintain its position as a leading academic health sciences centre, as well as being part of an integrated care system serving a population of 2.4 million people, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust needs to innovate in order to deliver world class healthcare in a challenging environment. We are aiming to recruit a proactive person whose behaviours are led by genuine enthusiasm and a sense of professional curiosity.

The post will assist decision makers to process and interpret date from a range of sources, and present validated information in an appropriate and useable format with the aim of making a positive contribution to prioritisation and decision making. Other key functions of the role are to oversee and provide leadership to activities in support of service developments and cost improvement. You will ensure systems are in place to monitor performance against directorate delivery plans in terms of service standards, activity and income, and financial efficiency.

You will have had recent involvement in service delivery, leading change projects and applying creative and sustainable solutions in order to maintain operational priorities according to expected standards and within budget. You will understand the realities of managing services in the NHS, have first-hand knowledge of working to contract rules, and have insight into techniques to optimise healthcare delivery. You will help to facilitate innovation by working collaboratively with a range of leaders and subject matter experts with the objective of developing and maintaining high quality, safe and sustainable services.

The role has an important part to play in showcasing good practice across all strata of the organisation and has developed a strong peer mentoring role with the division’s business managers. We expect the successful candidate to demonstrate that they can engage effectively with a range of individuals and groups, both face-to-face and through the use of digital platforms.

We are committed to ensuring that the successful candidate benefits from structured development and mentoring support drawn from the broad experience of the divisional finance, business support and operational teams. We are willing to consider reasonable flexible working arrangements, including regular home working, to ensure we secure the most suitable candidate for this position. Appointment on a secondment basis will be considered and we anticipate working with the successful candidate in creating a development plan to take them to the next stage of their career.

Based on our experience of previous successful candidates we strongly recommend that applicants for this post make contact with the recruiter to discuss the role.

The Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy early should we receive 50 applications prior to the advertised closing date. Please ensure you submit your application as soon as possible.

We are committed to equal opportunities and improving the working lives of our staff and will aim to consider applications to work flexibly, part-time or job share. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.
