Dietetic Assistant

Band 3 - £19,737 - £21,142 pro rata

Part time –30 hours per week (0.8 WTE) over 4-5 days

Permanent Position

Due to retirement in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Dietetic Assistant to join our team, supporting qualified Dietitians within the hospital and community environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to be trained to support the Nutrition and Dietetic team agenda.


We are a warm, friendly, supportive and forward thinking department. We are unique in that we provide a national award winning Nutritional Prescribing service for the Rotherham Care Commissioning Group (RCCG). Recently we have also successfully developed an Enteral Tube Feeding Service. The successful candidate will work alongside qualified Dietitians to provide support for both these services, which will include provision of nutrition support patient care, organising stock rotation of nutritional products, feeding devices, equipment and managing dietetic resources.

We are a fully integrated service with Hospital and Community and have excellent links with our CCG, GPs, Hospital Specialist services and surrounding Trusts. As a department we support and encourage CPD and are an active participant in student dietetic training clustering with Sheffield Hallam University and Nottingham University. Our Trust is one of the early implementers of Fully Integrated Community and Hospital Services.


Training will be provided to the successful candidate to develop knowledge and skills

The cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure, and you can choose to have this deducted from either your first month’s salary or in instalments over your first 3 months’ salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.

New starters to the NHS will start at the bottom of the advertised salary band.
