Title of Post: Trust Grade at ST 1-2 level in Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Responsible to: Miss Shyamaly Sur and Miss Charity Khoo (College Tutors)

Accountable to: Miss Mandish Dhanjal (Chief of Service)

Start: Flexible August to October 2021

Duration: 6 months with a view to extend to 12 months


Applications are invited from committed and enthusiastic doctors for the above post based at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital for 6 months (option to extend). Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital is part of the Imperial NHS trust and was recently awarded Outstanding by the CQC. We are looking for highly motivated and caring individuals to work within our excellent team.


Imperial College Healthcare (ICHT) NHS Trust wishes to recruit a trust grade doctor to Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. This is a post in a tertiary unit which is available from April 2021. The duties of this post will be delivered at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. The rota is fully compliant with the new Junior Doctors Contract.


The post is clinically based and include both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Full participation in the on call rota at SHO level is required. Obstetric daytime duties will include labour ward, elective operating, ward cover and support and clinical expertise in maternity day assessment units, along with antenatal clinics. Specialist antenatal clinics also run and there will be opportunities to attend these for learning and development. Gynaecology services include scanning in the early pregnancy and acute gynaecology unit, elective surgery, general gynaecology outpatients clinic and specialist clinics including menopause and ward cover. We have an extensive gynae-oncology service and the successful applicant will be expected to participate in providing care for these complex patients. Additional requirements include full participation in in house multidisciplinary training.


On call duties are based on labour ward, covering Obstetrics and gynaecology in the evenings, weekends and nights as the Obstetric or gynaecology SHO on call.
