Reports to: Matron for the Division of Urgent and Emergency Care (UECC)

An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Children’s Nurse to undertake the role as Senior Sister/ Charge Nurse (Band 7) as the Lead Paediatric Nurse within the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre (A&E)

This is an exciting role for a committed, hardworking dedicated Children’s Nurse that has the passion and drive to lead, manage and support the Paediatric UECC team to deliver safe, effective, well led responsive care for children and young people within an urgent care setting

The role will lead and develop an open, honest and transparent quality governance framework to support the delivery of safe, effective quality of care and experience for children and young people

The role will ensure that there is a robust education and training programme across the department in relation to the care of children and young people

You will also work as part of the wider UECC team of Senior Sisters/ Charge Nurses and be a role model and advocate for children and young people across the UECC and wider Paediatric services at the trust, working closely with our Paediatric team and services within the Childrens and Young People’s service and teams.

You will have management and leadership experience as a Registered Children’s Nurse ideally with experience in an acute/ urgent care setting at a senior level (Band 6 and above) and the passion and drive to lead a team to deliver outstanding services for children and young people

The cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure, and you can choose to have this deducted from either your first month’s salary or in instalments over your first 3 months’ salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.
