CT/MRI Radiographer: Rotational Post Band 6 (Band 5 Training Post)

37.5 Hours per week

 Full Time

An opportunity has arisen to join this well established friendly hard working team of Radiographers working within Cross Sectional Imaging Department at the Trust.  The post would be split 50% of the time between CT and MRI.  We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented Radiographer preferably with experience in both CT & MRI, but a training post would be considered if the appropriate candidate was identified.

A flexible approach to working is essential as both modalities operate an extended working day over a seven day platform.  Whilst deployed in CT the successful candidates will be expected to participate fully in out of hours CT Service provision.

The Department has the following equipment installed:-

  • Siemens AS 64 slice CT scanner
  • Siemens AS+ 128 slice CT scanner
  • Siemens Avanto 1.5T MRI scanner.

The successful candidate must have a post graduate experience in general radiography, be in possession of a BSc in Radiography or equivalent qualification and be HCPC registered.  You must also be able to demonstrate good communication skills, professionalism and a flexible approach to working to support the CT & MRI Imaging Lead in delivering an efficient cost effective service.  The Department actively supports post graduate education.

The Cross Sectional Imaging Service provides services to Trauma, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Obstetric and Gynaecology, ENT, General Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Breast, Neurology and Stroke Services.  It actively supports post graduate education and has recently successfully trained two CT radiographers to undertake head reporting under the direction of a Consultant Radiographer.

The Rotherham Foundation Trust serves a local population of approximately 252,000 and to an increasing number of patients from father afield.  The Accident and Emergency Department deals with approximately 75,000 patients per year and there are approximately 55,000 inpatient and 250,000 outpatient attendances each year.  The Trust is an associate Teaching Hospital of the University of Sheffield and has an active research programme delivered through local, regional and international research networks and consortia.
