We’re a large organisation with three hospitals located in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole. We also provide community services in North Lincolnshire. Our 6,500 members of staff care for and support a population of more than 400,000 people.

We encourage all our staff to innovate and adopt ‘best practice’ so we can deliver excellent care to our patients. We ask staff to live our values; kindness, courage and respect.

We are committed to recruiting the best people to work with us. You could be one of them

As a forward thinking and innovative maternity unit being led by a supportive management team, we can offer exciting and excellent opportunities for your midwifery career development. In line with NHS England requirements, we are currently implementing a phased programme of work to provide continuity of carer to our women.

We are seeking, innovative and flexible midwives to work within our continuity of care teams providing care to the women and their families.

As a continuity of care midwife you will be working as part of a team of 6-8 midwives, caring for a diverse population including vulnerable women, women with complex needs, women of black and ethnic minorities, teenagers, women with low and high risk care. You will be supporting your clients by booking their pregnancy, providing their routine antenatal care, providing team continuity during intrapartum care in the birth setting of the woman’s choice, and following her journey through the postnatal period. Working alongside our multi-disciplinary team will allow you to look after each woman’s specific needs and follow her personal journey. You will be working in the community and in the hospital as part of the acute setting.

Each team will care for women and their families based on a geographical area within the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole region and will follow an individualised care plan approach depending on the needs of the woman.

The role requires you to be able to work as an autonomous practitioner within the community and hospital setting, recognising any medical, obstetric or neonatal problems that arise and referring women or babies to the appropriate medical support.

Sounds fantastic doesn’t it? Well that’s not all; we will soon be able to offer you complete autonomy of your diary, flexible hours, self-rostering, team working, and a buddy system with great support, continued development, training and inter-professional working.
