Band 8a Modality Lead Superintendent Sonographer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Modality Lead for Ultrasound services at Imperial in the Imaging Department at Hammersmith Hospital. The position will be key to the future strategy and the continuing development of Ultrasound services as it evolves to ensure a sustainable and resilient service in this modality.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated and experienced sonographer with a comprehensive clinical portfolio, and possess the organisational and leadership skills to manage the service. They will act as the clinical lead for US with a role that encompasses the co-ordination of the day-to-day running of the service and managing a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will have excellent people management and communication skills and will demonstrate flair and imagination in motivating, training and developing staff.

Education and training are key elements of the department and the applicant should have excellent skills and experience in General and Specialist ultrasonography.

As part of the first Academic Health Science Centre our aim is to provide world-class healthcare to our patients through excellence in research, education and training. Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust comprises of five hospitals - Charing Cross, Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea, Hammersmith, St Mary’s and the Western Eye – and integrating with Imperial College London offers 50 clinical specialities and has one of the largest portfolios in the country.
