Due to the expansion of the Anaesthetic pre-operative assessment unit, the opportunity has arisen for a full time enthusiastic and dynamic nurse/ODP to join our Anaesthetic pre-operative assessment team (APOA).

You will need be flexible and committed to maintaining and improving patient experience and be able to adapt to change as we continue to develop our service to meet the needs of our children/young people and their families/carers and the Trust. We assess patients from multiple surgical specialties to ensure patients are fit and fully prepared for a General Anaesthetic, so you will need to have knowledge of relevant policies and the surgical pathway.

Organisation skills are essential along with experience of liaison with other departments and health care providers. You will need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as good IT skills. The pre-op assessment service is nurse led, with Consultant Anaesthetist support. You will have a commitment to high standards of care, attention to detail and sound clinical judgement
