An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced cancer nurse with in-depth knowledge relating to prostate cancer to join the Specialist Nursing Team, providing high quality patient centered care to those living with metastatic prostate cancer.

The Macmillan Metastatic Prostate Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist will be a core member of the multi-disciplinary team, managing a caseload of patients, providing specialist information, help and support from the point of diagnosis/recurrence. The role involves coordinating the patients’ pathway, undertaking a comprehensive holistic assessment and care planning to meet the individual needs of patient/carers

Other aspects of the role include developing nurse led clinics to enhance the patient pathway and supporting the implementation of remote monitoring

We welcome applications from highly motivated and experienced cancer nurses who have in-depth knowledge and experience in caring for patients living with prostate cancer. Knowledge of national directives related to cancer is essential including in-depth experience of implementing personalised care and support

Interested applicants must be a Registered Nurse who has worked as a Band 6 nurse who holds a First Level Degree in cancer/palliative care and an accredited communication skills course. A recognised teaching qualification and is an advantage along with being quantified as an independent nurse prescriber

Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and provide evidence of working autonomously as well as part of a team. The ability to work under pressure is essential as well as problem solving and advance assessment skills
