Are you someone who has a passion for working with adults with a mental illness and who wants to use your core skills as an Occupational Therapist?

As Occupational Therapists we are positioned to shape the culture of rehab settings to promote a therapeutic day, enhancing therapeutic environment and recovery focused approaches. This post will be contracted with Audrey House however currently due to temporary closure due to the Covid 19 response the successful candidate would work across the Rehabilitation service .

The post holder would recieve support and access to a much wider OT team and professional networks within the wider Trust.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist, who has an interest in providing care to adults within a Residential Rehab setting. You will be responsible for providing OT assessments and interventions, both individual and in groups. You will work collaboratively within the wider MDT, including the band 6 OT, OTA and nursing assistants to provide a therapeutic programme that supports the use of meaningful activity and recovery. You will develop therapeutic activities, sharing OT skills and knowledge within a Person-Centred, Recovery Based Approach.

You will need to be a dynamic clinician with good interpersonal skills to enable engagement of service users and staff in the therapeutic programme.

Occupational Therapists are recognised as essential core members of the multi-disciplinary team, and are in the forefront of developing recovery and therapeutic interventions. DHCFT can offer both personal and clinical development opportunities, in addition to regular professional and clinical supervision, Personal Development Plans, and support for Continual Professional Development activities. We also offer a number of clinical and professional development opportunities through our clinical forums and internal professional networks and links with local universities.

DBS Check
The cost of undertaking a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure which will be deducted from your first month’s salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.

We are obliged to check employment history for at least the past 3 years for successful candidates. Please ensure that the referees you provide us cover at least the past 3 years of your employment/training.

PLEASE NOTE, OUR SALARY SCALES ARE INCREMENTAL, AND STAFF NEW TO THE NHS WILL USUALLY START AT THE BOTTOM POINT OF THE PAYSCALE ADVERTISED.
