We offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to take up the role as Sister/Charge Nurse at Interventional Radiology in Charing Cross Hospital.

Charing Cross Hospital is one of the major neuro science centers in London and one of the two organisations which offer 24/7 Thrombectomy services. Is highly specialized in both general interventional procedures as well as neurointerventional procedures. The department offers great opportunity in learning from the most basics procedures such as biopsies and drainages, to the most complex treatment of cerebral aneurysm, ischemic stroke, ureteric stenting and embolisations treatment. It also provides the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in the recovery of post-anesthetic patients and Level 2 care, offering an umbrella of learning and development of opportunities.

Charing Cross interventional radiology department has a world renowned reputation for research, trial of new vibrant devices, as well as chairing the last two International Thrombectomy symposiums. The department also participates in quality improvement projects allowing staff to develop their ideas and empowering everyone to work together to become experts on the field.

The band 6 sister / charge nurse will play an integral part in leading the team according to our trust values and ensuring the delivery of high quality patient care within this innovative environment. With such a wide variety of specialist services there is ample opportunity to gain valuable managerial skills; providing a firm foundation for your career. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to make a difference to this service.

The team works in conjunction with radiologists, radiographic staff and anaesthetists providing care for complex patients across all imaging modalities including Angio, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, and Recovery.


What can we do for you?

We provide a comprehensive orientation program along with in house training, foundation courses, coaching and leadership training. You will build skills and knowledge on surgical scrubbing, circulating and recovery skills. You will gain valuable experience in Endovascular work, microwave ablation, MRgFUS fibroids, Prostate embolisations, Thrombectomy, embolisation of aneurysm and other highly specialised treatments. You will have the support of a clinical educator, clinical nurse specialists and a friendly and supportive team environment.
